Build a Hydrogen Fuel Generator For Your Car

No one has to be told that the economy is in trouble and that the price of fuel is rising uncontrollably. People are scrambling for ways to save money like working two jobs and they still have no money left on payday. Gasoline was once the substance that represented freedom but now is the bane of our existence. What if there was an alternative fuel that you did not have to wait ten years for? How would it feel to drive on by the gas station and laugh all the way to the bank? If this sounds good to you, then you should consider building a hydrogen fuel generator for your car.

Hydrogen

For quite some time, hydrogen has been considered to be the ideal candidate for alternative fuel. Understanding how it works is as important as understanding how your car uses gasoline. Fuel travels into the combustion chamber in liquid form and mixes with oxygen before it is ignited by sparks from the plugs. Problem number one is that fuel is expensive; problem number two is that not all of the fuel is being used. A certain amount of fuel is evaporated through the exhaust because the ignition does not burn it all.

We can break water down into its base parts, hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen is a gas and when introduced into an internal combustion engine it will burn like gasoline. Therefore reducing the amount of gasoline you will have to purchase. Plus your vehicle may get an immediate explosion of extra power.

How the Generator Works

People all over the country are building their own hydrogen generators for their cars. The great thing is that so can you. To break down water into its constituent parts you have to use a process called electrolysis. Electrolysis is achieved by sending an electrical current through a specially designed piece of metal suspended in water. This causes the water molecules to shear apart and produces pure oxygen and hydrogen.

Hydrogen bubbles then rise into a collection chamber that is connected to the air breather. The hydrogen is then introduced into the combustion chamber where it is ignited. In addition, remember the oxygen required from above? You have produced that as well. Your car is now running on a renewable clean energy source that is produced right under your hood!

Additional Benefit

Users have reported increased power during take off. It has been described as being like giving your vehicle a shot of NOS! Acceleration was also markedly better. There is also an additional benefit that no one expected – the exhaust is steam.

When a car burns gasoline, there are carbon particles that are sucked through the car’s exhaust system. This carbon begins to build in the exhaust and EGR system. Anyone who has owned a car knows that you will be replacing the EGR valve and components after 100,000 miles. These parts can run into hundreds of dollars. The reason they fail is the above-mentioned carbon build up. Everyone knows the best cleaning agent on the planet is steam or hot water. Guess what? You are producing steam with your hydrogen generator and it is flowing straight through your EGR and exhaust.

A hydrogen fuel generator will provide you with clean renewable energy produced under your hood that will assist you in preventative maintenance for your car. What in the world, are you waiting for?

Save Our Planet With Hydrogen Fuel Cells

Have you heard about water fuel? Well, it is properly called hydrogen fuel cell technology and it is here to save the planet. Oil and gas prices are soaring higher and higher and there will come a time when people realize that they should consider an alternative fuel energy source.

Admit it, everyday your car emissions are contributing to pollution. If you want to reduce pollution and at the same time save money, you need to make use of hydrogen fuel cell technology; find out more by reading this article.

Hydrogen fuel cell technology is not new. It started more or less eighty years ago but since it is quite expensive, scientists and researchers don’t find it a good alternative fuel source. Aside from the hydrogen technology, other technologies have surfaced years ago such as the use of vegetable oil and sugar cane to run a car. However, these technologies did not achieve great success because of the hefty price, climate restrictions, and other issues regarding safety on the road. In short, these technologies were unstable.

Hydrogen fuel cell technology is different. In fact, there are now converted hydrogen cars roaming the streets of US, Europe, and Canada. This improved technology is now more stable. Have you tried surfing the internet? The hydrogen fuel cell kits are widely available online and anyone can get it as long as they want to take advantage of the hydrogen technology.

Experts did not find vegetable oil and sugar cane as viable options. Can hydrogen technology offer something different? If you want proof, the technology is proof in itself since it is science reality. With hydrogen technology, you will still need gasoline aside from the HHO generator and conversion tool.

The conversion tool will need electricity from the car battery and this will be used to conduct the process of electrolysis. Through the process, hydrogen will be extracted from water and in turn provide the car with added power. Obviously, at this point in time, hydrogen technology can’t replace the use of diesel or gasoline. Well, who knows what might happen in the future.

By using this hydrogen fuel cell technology, you can reduce your fuel consumption to a great extent and save lots of money. Now, why did scientists and researchers find this technology viable? The reason is that hydrogen technology is much more affordable now. In fact, car companies will soon offer the public with affordable hydrogen powered vehicles.

Conversion projects are easy to build and are quite affordable. If you’re interested with the hydrogen technology, surf the net now. Check out the available resources that are in store for you. You will surely get tremendous savings by simply investing on the fuel cell kits online.

Even if you buy the built fuel cells, the cost is still nothing compared to the savings that you will get in return. Well, if you want changes, you definitely have to spend some money. This is a very good investment because you’re not only helping yourself but you’re also helping the world.

Find guides online to help you go through with your conversion project. Perhaps you have a friend or a relative who converted their car already. Ask help from them so that the task is immediately finished. If everyone in the world consider the use of hydrogen fuel cell technology, life will improve.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells-Do They Really Work?

Article by Billy D. McCarran

A few years back, I was pretty certain that the rich oil companies would not allow the “Hydrogen Fuel Cell” industry to get as far as they have. I would venture to say that they are not looking for alternative fuels.

But it happened. Reality check time! Now we can put in a fuel cell system in our vehicle and save 0′s if not 00′s of dollars per year. Guess what? We can now build these devices ourselves – inexpensively and legally.Alternative fuel here we come.

What makes a Hydrogen Fuel Cell work?

All you need is the electricity from your car to electrolyze a tiny amount of water to make hydrogen gas. The gas is then injected into your intake system. The hydrogen gas is then mixed with the gas from your tank to make your car become more fuel efficient. This increases your power, reduces exhaust pollutants and makes your wallet fatter.

Electricity is what produces the hydrogen gas. Hydrogen gas is a supplement to using gasoline. You will still have to buy gasoline but not as much as you have had to in the past.

Why, you ask, isn’t everyone using this new alternative fuel technology? You have to understand, a lot of people hate change. Something that they are not understanding is scary. I felt the same way until I decided to take the plunge. And, boy, am I glad I did.

Where to get a Hydrogen Fuel Cell thingy?

Yes, you do have to be careful on who you send your money to. Some companies just want your money, they give no support if you have questions. Get your guide from a strong and lasting company. They will work with you on making sure everything works the way it should. Try to get a guide that also has videos.

Want to build one, but where do you start?

Fear not! There have been many folks out there just like you that have made and installed their own hydrogen fuel cell in a weekend. Almost all parts can be purchased from your local auto parts store.

I have taken a lot of the hassle out of trying to find the right company to get a guide from. I have reviewed the Top 3 Best-Selling Hydrogen Fuel Cell Guides to make your life a little easier. I actually did this for me but decided to pass on this information in a concise overview of whats the best available.

We should all be thinking about ways to save fossil fuels by reducing our heavy dependency upon them.  Fossil fuels have become such a part of our lives, that it is often difficult to picture a world without them, but one day this will be a reality.

This makes it very important to look for ways to save fossil fuels or use alternative energy sources so that we no longer need to use them.  These fuels are a non renewable resource, found deep within the bowels of our planet.  Once we extract them, they are not replaced, ever.

There are some ways to save fossil fuels and to move away from their use that we can all work on each and every day.

Think about your car and your daily use of it.  Is your car an older car that consumes a lot of gas?  If so, you may consider purchasing an updated, more fuel efficient vehicle, or a vehicle that runs on an alternative fuel source, other than fossil fuels.
Consider alterative sources for heating your home, other than oil.  There are far more efficient methods of heating and cooling your home, including geothermal systems and heat exchange units which are also very energy efficient.
Look into alternative ways to produce electricity in your home, other than your local electrical company.  These methods can include the installation of solar panels and wind turbines.  These are two very good ways of harnessing natural, renewable energy and also saving a lot of money in the process.

Making many of these choices on our own and working towards reducing our overall carbon footprint is crucial, before those choices are made for us.  Most people think we have endless resources, but the truth is that if we do not smarten up and start to conserve resources and non renewable fuels, we will run into a lot of problems in the future.

Between elevated gasoline prices (which show every indication of staying that way) and the current concern about the environmental impacts of vehicle emissions, you’ve probably been hearing a lot of discussion about the use of “alternative fuels.” It sounds like a good idea, you think…but do you know what alternative fuels are actually in the running? Here’s the shortlist of the alternative fuels to keep an eye on, and a major advantage and disadvantage for each:

Electric

Electricity is a source of power that we already produce, store, and use. To power an electric vehicle (EV), electricity is produced by a power plant or other standard means and is then stored in the battery that will operate the vehicle.

Pro: A vehicle powered solely by electricity produces no emissions.

Con: In current models, batteries need to be recharged frequently.

Biodiesel

Biodiesel is a fuel that is made from vegetable oils and animal fats through a chemical process called esterification. When the oils and fats are mixed with alcohol, their molecules break down into methylesters, which are then used as fuel, and a waste product of glycerin. It can be used in some diesel vehicles with very little, if any, modification to the existing engine.

Pro: Potential fuel sources vary from grain crops to used cooking grease.

Con: Biodiesel thickens and freezes at low temperatures.

Ethanol

Ethanol is a type of alcohol that is created through the fermentation of substances with high starch or sugar contents, such as corn or sugar cane. In this process, yeast bacteria consume the sugars and starches and produce carbon dioxide and ethanol as by-products. The use of chemical catalysts can be used to make the process faster and more productive.

Pro: Ethanol can be produced from renewable agricultural resources.

Con: Contains less energy than the same amount of gasoline.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells

Hydrogen fuels cells harness the electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen. The bonding of hydrogen and oxygen atoms results in two products: energy, which is then stored as power in the cell, and—you guessed it: water.

Pro: Hydrogen engines are typically more efficient than gasoline engines.

Con: Current vehicle designs can only store enough hydrogen for short-range travel.

At first, you’ll most likely see these fuels used in combination with current gasoline-engine technology. Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) utilize both a standard gasoline engine and a rechargeable battery, and are already offered by several car manufacturers. Hybrid vehicles with a gasoline engine and a hydrogen fuel cell are currently in development, and are estimated to hit the market in 2008 to 2009. Vehicles that are designed or modified to run on mixtures of gasoline and biodiesel or ethanol show promise, and are already in use.

While some types of alternative-fuel vehicles aren’t yet readily available to the public, keep your eyes open—a combination of research, public encouragement, and lively market competition brings that day ever closer. Honda and Toyota, the first automotive manufacturers to market HEVs in the United States, have already been joined by a handful of others…and the rest are likely to follow suit.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells- A True Alternative to Gasoline?

There is present and future fuel alternative that is certainly gaining more notoriety.  Hydrogen fuel cells are a potentially great way to address two of growing energy concerns in America today, including those living in La Selva Beach homes. The reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and lessening our dependence on foreign petroleum resources is extremely important.  Hydrogen can be produced from abundant and diverse domestic resources, and the fuel cells in production and development can provide a clean and efficient way to use this energy.  Together they represent an extremely different approach to energy conversion and transportation.

FCV’s or fuel cell vehicles are propelled by electric motors. However, unlike battery electric vehicles, which gain their energy from an external source, FCVs create their own electricity. Just think, as you’re driving back to your La Selva Beach home, you’ll have both a clean fuel source, and the power you need to get the job done.  The onboard fuel cells create electricity through a chemical process that uses hydrogen fuel and oxygen from the air. The fuel is stored onboard in high pressure tanks. In addition, with the help of a “reformer” device, fuels such as natural gas, and methanol can be used after they have been converted to hydrogen gas. These vehicles are quiet, offer little emissions into the air besides water, and heat. In addition, their efficiency has been shown to be at least twice as comparable combustible vehicles.

In 1999, the members of the California Fuel Cell Partnership started to make progress towards creating and maintaining a commercial market for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.  By 2008, a total of 250 fuel cell vehicles were driving down California roads, and refueling themselves at 25 stations scattered throughout the state.  California is one of the first states to recognize hydrogen as an alternative fuel source, and subsequently began the regulation process to enable retail sales of the fuel.  In July of 2008, members of CaFCP published a unifying vision for the expansion of hydrogen stations and fuel cell vehicles between now and 2017.

At this time, automakers project that thousands of fuel cell vehicles will be available for California consumers by 2012, and the earliest examples will undoubtedly be constructed using both private and governmental funding. With the expected increase in fuel cell vehicles on California roads, an estimated million dollars could potentially be spent to create the necessary infrastructure by 2013.

In a conference at the SAE 2009 World Congress in Detroit Michigan, people from Nissan, Toyota, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will most likely be an important component of the nation’s transportation by 2050.  The main reason for this delay is the fact that a new infrastructure must be created, or the old one needs to be drastically changed in order to incorporate hydrogen as a fuel.  In addition, because of hydrogen’s volatile nature, safety is of great importance.  Thankfully, state of the art materials and techniques have made the fuel cells some of the safest sources for power on the grid today.

Making the switch to alternatively fueled vehicles is just one way that you can make sure that you grow, and the environment is preserved.  Making the right choice for you is dependant on a number of factors, including the availability of the fuel, performance of the vehicle, and your desired impact on the environment.  Before making any decision, do the proper research, and chances are you’ll make the right one for you.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells and the Environment

Article by Mirko v. A.

There’s no doubt that the development of hydrogen fuel cells as an alternative fuel is good for the environment, but how does that work? It’s easy to say that we should use hydrogen fuel cell technology to save our environment and prevent global warming. Finding facts about it and embracing those facts can be two very different things.

First, let’s consider the fact that hydrogen fuel cells are good for the environment because they are the cleanest burning fuels ever developed. Hydrogen is taken out of water and then put into fuel cells as a gas that can power a vehicle. The only emission that comes out of a fuel cell powered vehicle is water vapor. It’s like having a humidifier for the whole world! There are, however, some drawbacks that are associated with hydrogen fuel cells and the environment. A completely efficient system of producing, storing and transporting hydrogen should, in principle, lead to no unwanted emissions of the gas. But the researchers point out that such a system would be expensive, and that in reality around 10-20% of the hydrogen would escape into the atmosphere. They say that if hydrogen fuel cells replaced all of today’s oil and gas-based combustion technologies, such losses would double or even triple the total hydrogen deposited into the atmosphere at the Earth’s surface. Other researchers say that the hydrogen would be oxidized when it reaches the stratosphere, which would cool the stratosphere and create more clouds. This would delay the break up of the polar vortex at the north and south poles, making the holes in the ozone layer larger and longer lasting. They estimate that the extra hydrogen will lead to a 5-8% rise in ozone depletion at the North Pole and between 3 and 7% at the South Pole. The exact scale of this additional ozone depletion, however, depends on a number of unknown quantities. In addition to uncertainty over the extent of hydrogen emissions in the future, little is understood about how soil absorbs hydrogen from the atmosphere. The researchers say it is conceivable that this process could compensate for all new anthropogenic emissions. The truth is, however, that using hydrogen fuel cells as an alternative fuel is actually – in the long run – good for the environment. When the only emission that comes from hydrogen fuel cells is water vapor, you are talking about a huge advantage over the toxic elements that are released into the air with gasoline burning cars.

The bottom line is that hydrogen fuel cells have a positive effect on the environment. There are many more advantages than disadvantages and hydrogen as an alternative fuel has the most promise over any other alternative fuel.

Hydrogen Fuel Cars – Do they Exist?

Article by Gargi Nath

Did you know that hydrogen fuel cars are already on the streets of many first world countries? General Motors and Ford already launched hydrogen fuel cars and currently, BMW has created a series of the same type of vehicle. General Motors already have thirteen hydrogen fuel cars roaming the streets of Washington, including 6 minivans.

Ford is still in the process of manufacturing ‘Focus’. Other car manufacturers namely Honda, Toyota, DaimlerChrysler, and Nissan already have vehicles in the Army and even with the public.

With the launching of hydrogen fuel cars, many car owners no longer have to worry about gas mileage. If you want to save money now, yet you can’t afford the hydrogen fuel cars, have your existing car converted. Of course, it can cost a little but the benefits are priceless.

By 2010, General Motors will launch alternative hydrogen fuel cars. Although the cars use alternative hydrogen fuel, the price is just like that of internal combustion vehicles. GM and Shell are now partners; the latter has created stations for hydrogen fuel to meet the demand for the alternative fuel. The two giant companies projected that for every 200,000 hydrogen fuel cars, 300 stations are needed.

If you walk the streets of Europe, you will hardly notice that there are some hydrogen fuel buses roaming their streets. DaimlerChrysler introduced the said buses in 2004. You can find the buses in Barcelona, Amsterdam, London, Hamburg, Madrid, Luxemburg, Reykjavik, Porto, Stuttgart, and Stockholm. The buses function well regardless of the weather.

In fact, the buses provide excellent transportation during hot summers and cold winters; as well as in the hilly regions and flatlands. You can find hydrogen stations in the 7 major cities of Europe and each station is equipped with the necessary equipments like the electrolysis tools. Water is used to create the fuel for the stations.

An ethanol fuel car can also use hydrogen fuel cells. Ethanol has water and this is where the hydrogen is derived. If you use this alternative, you can improve gas mileage and at the same time supply the cells with the needed hydrogen. This type of vehicle is called water power car or hybrid car and it can run using ethanol or hydrogen.

If you want a clean and abundant energy source, choose hydrogen fuel cars. As long as you have a water source, you can use it to power your hydrogen car. At present, the fuel cells are quite large but developers are now trying to make it more efficient and more reliable. Just imagine the very first computers which were large but after several years, small versions were soon invented and launched. It will not be shocking if hydrogen fuel technology will rapidly develop.

One thing’s for sure, hydrogen fuel cars do exist. Some people are still unaware of this fact but in the coming years, these cars will dominate the streets. Here’s good news to everyone, if you want to address the global warming problem, have your cars converted if it is feasible.

Check your locality if you can find a hydrogen station. This is a very important decision that you have to make, so be sure that you will have no regrets. So far, users of hydrogen fuel cars do not have any regrets and with the advanced technology of today, improvements are on their way. So look out for the cars of the future.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells – Simple Recipe To Make One At Home

Hydrogen fuel cell is another option to alternative fuels for people interested in using alternative fuels but they are not aware of the fact that they will be possible to make it at home soon if they want to do so.These cars will totally wipe out U.S. reliance on foreign oil.Cars will be able to get electricity from the fuel cell which will generate electricity to run them, and result in no pollution and no emissions.

It will take atleast 10 years before the auotomobile industry will be able to supply hydrogen – powered vehicles to the people. According to a company called United Nuclear, the development could be accelerated. In an e-mail they have stated that it would produce hydrogen conversion kits for individual owners of vehicles to convert their gasoline internal combustion engine vehicles to burn hydrogen.

Thus, does it not sound like a dream , that one can get a kit which can enable you to make homemade hydrogen fuel cell.It has taken them years of research and development to be able to master the art of manufacturing hydrogen fuel cells,so one cannot be sure of the quality of the one made at home when compared to what is made by professionals.Hence, even though it sounds alarming it is achievable.

The reason behind this article is not to teach you how to make a great home made hydrogen fuel cell because every Tom, Dick and Harry cannot possibly extract hydrogen from water and so even if you wanted to make the hydrogen fuel cell by yourself it would be difficult to get hydrogen to fuel it and at this point of time there are not many hydrogen filling stations in the vicinity.

It is quite funny to see advertisements from United Nuclear claiming the availability of the homemade hydrogen fuel kits while the CEO claims that there are no kits for sale at present.

In case you are keen on converting your vehicle to run on hydrogen fuel cells you should get a professional to do so rather than than do it yourself with a homemade unit.No doubt it is a great thing to be able to convert to a hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicle, since the emissions are only water vapour which is definitely eco-friendly and not any other chemical emission. But installation and making of the homemade hydrogen fuel cell should only be done by professionals.

But if you still want to go ahead, we advice you to do a complete study on how to assemble a hydrogen fuel cell and also work with utmost care and in case you get stuck at somre point just ask the professionals.
